DANIELLE COVINGTON FOR WILMINGTON CITY COUNCIL AT LARGE
I am deeply grateful for the valuable experiences I have gained through organizing numerous community resource events in Wilmington, Delaware. It has been an honor to collaborate with local government agencies, non-profit organizations, and the Church to support the most vulnerable communities in our city. Having listened to and witnessed the challenges faced by our residents - I am eager to enhance my role alongside the dedicated women and men of the Wilmington City Council. Together, let us work tirelessly towards a brighter and more prosperous future for Wilmington!
My initial focus will be on the key items below
Collaborate with other partners to increase Youth and Elderly Programs and Services
We must ensure that our youth has an overwhelming amount of positive alternatives to violence and substance abuse. We also need to build their confidence and ability to become a positive contributor to society. Also, we must remember our elderly neighbors. They deserve our care and respect.
Work with the housing organizations and agencies to ensure children and familes stay in their homes:
There is undoubtedly, a housing crisis - One of the ways to help this issue is to keep people in their homes by aggressively seeking Federal and State level grants to support this initiative.
Educate residents where to find and obtain necessary resources
Many of the resources that our community is in need of, already exists. We need to ensure that Wilmington residents are well aware of what has been made available to them.
